Effect of corona : Entertainment, Media, Culture, Movies

Though I am a finance guy, I have contacts with people working in the entertainment industry, from singers to actors to dancers to music composers. After the Corona outbreak started in the US, some of them were in the US; they were performing their drama and other concerts. US Government told them to leave the US. After coming to India, they were quarantined in a different house. So many were frustrated that a chance to earn money was gone. Even after coming to India, they cant meet their family, and the money paid for all facilities was also gone.

I never told them that the future is way scarier than this.

A pandemic took two years to come under control, ultimately as PER WHO. As we are aware Risk of corona spread is highest in a social gatherings, so all types of concerts, Movie screenings, dramas, public events, the cultural meeting are now looking impossible.

This type of gathering can be impossible now.

If there is no movie screening, there will be no need to shoot. So no sitcoms. No web series, No large music concerts where the large public gatherings will be expected.

India is one country where we can see some drastic changes. Like hereafter till the vaccine on corona will not be found, marriages, Sports, Olympics, Religious concerts, or any event where the public can be gathered.

We always listen that Humans are social animals. So hereafter, till the vaccine gets, all this will come under control.

We may be entering the era of online marriage. Facebook live, Youtube lives, and Zoom can be social media. It may be putting extra pressure on telecom services. Cricket in India, Football in Europe, and Olympics worldwide may need some developed technology like VR or 360 video shooting. 4G technology helped in Video streaming. Now it may be time to see Public gatherings in the way of Viewership.

Religious gathering, by any religion, is now challenging. I am not against any religion. I have no problem with the hajj, cultural meetings in Vatican city during Christmas, or Kumbh Mela. They are, beyond doubt, part of our culture. But right now, we are in mid of one of the deadliest pandemics. We don’t even know whether this is manufactured or natural. Is it a war or what?

The business of movie theaters is collapsed. They need to think differently about themselves until the vaccine is not found. Social distancing is essential. Netflix, Disney plus, Amazon Prime, and Youtube were constantly making their life difficult. Corona crisis was like the last straw on the camel’s back.

Political gatherings can also be a tricky thing. But the availability of social media is beneficial. Facebook life can be significant. The number of Twitter followers can be a great way of finding strength.
